WHO ARE ANTHONY NOLAN?
Anthony Nolan saves and improves the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders.
In 1974, Shirley Nolan set up the stem cell register, and with it the Anthony Nolan charity, in a bid to save her son Anthony’s life, who had been diagnosed with a rare blood disorder.
Sadly, she wasn’t able to find Anthony a matching donor, but thanks to Shirley’s remarkable legacy, 50 years later the charity are now helping to save four lives a day.
Their vision is a future where every patient who needs a stem cell transplant can survive and thrive.
Celebrating 50 years!

SAVING LIVES THROUGH STEM CELLS
WHAT DO THEY DO?
HELPING TO SAVE FOUR LIVES A DAY BY...
Growing their stem cell register targeting young men aged 16-30
There are over 900,000 potential lifesavers on the register, with an aim to get to 1,000,000 by 2027
Carrying out ground-breaking research and developing new treatments to improve survival and quality of life after transplant.
Offering invaluable support to patients and their families
THIS YEAR OUR AIM IS TO RAISE £120,000 THROUGH FUNDRAISING AND ADDING YOUNG MEN TO THE STEM CELL REGISTER
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
GROW THE REGISTER
Get trained up and recruit donors to the register – young men provide 55% of all donations but only make up 18% of the register!
FUNDRAISE
It costs £40 to add every donor to
the register – if each member
raised £40 that would raise enough
to add 3,000 donors!
